FC Porto got to this stage of the competition after defeating Roma on 4-0 aggregate in the previous round. Both teams played out a 1-1 draw at Estadio do Dragao, but Porto were strong at Italy as they won 0-3. Now they will be hosting Copenhagen in their first group stage game on Wednesday.

Porto returned to winning ways in their weekend Premeira game, they defeated Victoria Guimaraes 3-0 at home. Goals form I. Marcano in the 38th minute, O. Torres in the 46th minute and Joao Aurielo’s own goal in the 55th minute made it possible for Porto. They now hope for a repeat of this home performance on Wednesday against Copenhagen.

Meanwhile, Copenhagen passed through 3 previous stage to get to this stage of the competition. They defeated Crusaders on 9-0 aggregate and Astra on 4-1 aggregate in the qualifying rounds. Furthermore, they defeated Apoel on 2-1 aggregate in the playoffs. They have come a long way in this competition, and are ready to go all the way to the knockout stages.
